Saphara teams give young people the opportunity to engage in issues of justice and global citizenship through working with educationally disadvantaged children in India. Saphara is a non-profit, non-denominational Christian organisation which welcomes young people from all backgrounds, races and religions.

Schools Programme

The 16 day trip in July 2009 will focus on working with disadvantaged children in India through Irish-linked charities. The location will be Dehradun and Mussoorie in the foothills of the Himalayas.

Each team will comprise 16 young people with 3 teachers

Dr Christine Burnett, a teacher for 20 years at Methodist College, will lead the teams along with other teachers all with extensive experience of taking school groups to India. Applications are now closed for summer 2009.
